Did half of Summer today, got through the first trades with the human caravan, and quit after getting the animals brought in. I overflowed the cistern a bit, but it wasn't much. All other specialist skills are deactivated for them at this time. The hospital is fully stocked and nominally staffed with a diagnoser and two nurses who each have two of the other health skills activated. We quickly replugged the cistern with our new control lever (I really love those things) and then walled in the gap on the bottom level of the cistern. Whatever, it gave him a running chance to get out of there, which he did. Says his forefathers taught him to do it that way. Sent one miner to tap the corner of the river for water. The hospital cistern is officially active. Anyway, I just figured I'd get that out of the way before going on to the actual good news. Our militia commander and Elle both had babies. We've had a couple of births in the Fortress. If only the undead wildfowl hadn't been there too. Reminds me of my undead Pittsburgh fortress.
